I'm Back

I'm finally back. It took a while after getting back to the Academy to get my new Internet stuff set up. Actually, I got it done Monday but I've been too busy and/or lazy to write anything.

Congrats to Sarah and Tom! Good, now that that is out of the way, not much is going on here. Today was the second day for the Basics to come through...and they are officially dumber than dirt. I'm mean really, all they have to do is follow some simple commands and not point the gun at me, but no. They insist on sucking at life and stealing oxygen from others. There are some of them that I really believe should not be allowed to pro-create, and this is only after about an hour with them!

I had a blast on leave this year. Sarah and Tom's wedding was a blast. I had a pretty good time in case you hadn't noticed. Oh well. So is life. They're still in Hawaii as of this writing so I hope they keep having a good time. I've heard about the snorkeling and parasailing and helicopter ride so far. Sounds way better than the Academy and mouth-breather Basics with pinkeye.

I drove back to Colorado with Dad and it was pretty fun. It was a long drive (for us)...about 12 hours including stops and whatnot. I was glad that Dad got to stay for a little bit. We had a good time hanging out at the hotel and eating ice cream and P.F. Chang's. It was also pretty fun getting lost in the mountains thanks to dear old Mom. We were supposed to find this cabin place, but the directions Mom gave us were for heading FROM the cabin to the Academy, not the other way around. We never could find the place, and neither could the locals. But the best part is that Mom had directions from the Academy to the cabin (which we needed), but didn't give them to us! Oh well. I love you anyway Mom.

That's about it from here. Working CATM (Combat Arms Training and Maintanence) is pretty boring. We get to the range around 8:00 and then put out targets, ammo, magazines, and safety glasses. That takes about 45 minutes...then we sit around until lunch at 11:00. Yeah, it's kind of boring but it's a lot better than having to sweat it out with the Basics by the tents and stuff. We usually get done around 3:30 so that's nice too.
